Debate app chooser: find the format for your task

Compare six debate, AI practice and deliberation apps by what you want to do. Export a shortlist with official sources, check dates and honest limits.

Start with your task

6 documented fits · Alphabetical order · No quality score

Filters use the formats documented below. A product missing from a task means we have not documented that fit here; it does not prove the feature is absent. This is a bounded six-product comparison published by Debagle, one of the products listed.

OUR PRODUCT · FIRST-PARTY REVIEW

Debagle

Use it when both sides should speak aloud and respond to a real person.

Format
Live human video debate; two-person conversation on one device
Who you engage with
Another person; AI reviews the arguments
What you leave with
A timed conversation and AI argument review. Open questions use reflection rather than a winner.

It is not a solo AI opponent or a classroom argument map. AI review is not a fact-check or a truth verdict. Online matching depends on another person being available.

Checked 2026-10-06 · First-party product and source review; not an independent benchmark

OFFICIAL DESCRIPTION REVIEW

DebateAI.app

Use it to test a position against AI-generated opposing arguments without finding a human partner.

Format
AI debates and human-versus-AI practice
Who you engage with
AI models and simulated personas
What you leave with
Opposing AI arguments, with options to challenge the models directly

A simulated persona is not the real person. Models disagreeing does not establish which claims are true. Check current plan limits on the official site.

OFFICIAL DESCRIPTION REVIEW

Kialo

Use it when you want to read or build a persistent written map rather than speak in a timed round.

Format
Written pro-and-con discussion maps
Who you engage with
People contributing written claims
What you leave with
A branching discussion that links supporting and opposing claims

Our live-speaking task filter does not include this documented written format. Votes or the shape of a map do not verify a claim.

OFFICIAL DESCRIPTION REVIEW

Kialo Edu

Use it for a class that needs students to contribute and inspect linked reasons at their own pace.

Format
Written classroom discussion maps
Who you engage with
Students and educators
What you leave with
Saved pro-and-con contributions for classroom discussion and review

A documented classroom workflow is not evidence of suitability for every age or school policy. An educator still needs to review permissions, moderation and institutional requirements.

OFFICIAL DESCRIPTION REVIEW

Polis

Use it when the job is understanding a group's views, not naming the winner of a two-person debate.

Format
Group statements with agree, disagree or pass responses
Who you engage with
People contributing to a group consultation
What you leave with
Patterns of opinion and statements that receive support across groups

Results describe participating respondents, not automatically a representative population. A facilitator must design recruitment, moderation and the next decision step.

OFFICIAL DESCRIPTION REVIEW

Yoodli

Use it to rehearse a conversation or presentation and review how you communicate.

Format
AI roleplay and communication coaching
Who you engage with
AI conversation partners
What you leave with
Feedback on communication content, delivery and progress

Speaking feedback is a different task from judging the truth of an argument. Check the official plans and policies for your intended use.

Choose the format before the brand

A live human debate, a simulated AI opponent, a speaking rehearsal, a written argument map and a group consultation answer different needs. Start with the output you want: a conversation, another challenge to your position, coaching, a persistent map or a picture of a group’s views. Then inspect access, price and privacy at the official destination.

How we built this comparison

The Debagle team selected six products already covered in our debate-app guide and civic deliberation guide. We checked the linked official descriptions on 6 October 2026 and mapped their documented workflows to seven visitor tasks. Task tags are our editorial interpretation. This is not an exhaustive directory, an independent product trial or a ranking of safety, accuracy or coaching quality.

We build Debagle. Its entry uses first-party product and source review; the other entries use official descriptions. Every entry identifies that difference. There are no affiliate links or paid placements in this comparison. The cards deliberately avoid numerical ratings and undocumented feature-absence claims.

What we leave unknown

We did not benchmark uptime, matchmaking wait, AI accuracy, accessibility compliance, moderation outcomes or classroom suitability. The chooser does not verify an account’s eligibility or a platform’s current plans. Missing information remains unknown; a filter exclusion is not a confirmed “no.” DebateAI.app is the exact domain reviewed here, and should not be confused with separately operated products using a similar name.

Keep a decision you can revisit

Select up to three entries, export the shortlist, and check whether their documented outputs match your task. A shortlist can include a product from an earlier filter. The export keeps limits, check dates and source links beside every choice. No product is selected for you, and there is no hidden weighting or recommendation score.

Maintenance and next steps

The Debagle team owns this comparison. Next editorial review target: 5 November 2026, or sooner if a linked workflow materially changes. This is a review target, not a claim that an automated monitor runs. Use each official link to check the current service, and read about Debagle for our own product’s purpose.

For a conversation with someone beside you, use the custom debate planner. To practice answering a specific objection, try the rebuttal lab. If you are comparing random video services, read our Omegle alternatives guide; this tool’s selection covers structured reasoning and consultation workflows.
